*ECO has no affiliation with these parks and the City of Phoenix, City of Mesa, US Forest Service and City of Gilbert assume no liability.
We will meet every other Friday from 4 pm - 6 pm for 18 weeks. You can view the calendar here.
Each class will be a bit different since our citizen science and stewardship projects will vary. Many of the topics will compliment each other.
Teens will also be encouraged to attend fieldtrips. These will be about every other month and should be free or very inexpensive. Fieldtrip locations will mostly be to college labs like the UofA Dendrochronology Lab, ASU Lichen Herbarium, ASU Biomimicry Center.
In addition they will also be encouraged to attend online webinars and/or in person lectures with the teacher. We will have follow up discussions afterwards. Some of the organizations include Phoenix Zoo Conservation Speakers, Phoenix Audubon, Desert Botanical Gardens, North American Invasive Species Management Association, etc.
The current topics have been based off the interests of the 3 currently enrolled teens. We will survey newly enrolled teens and make adjustments as needed. You can view the class syllabus here.
