Last year we offered our first "ECO Explorers" program which accommodated children in K-3rd grade. We fully anticipated that some adjustments would need to be made and as a result we are adjusting the grade levels for our "ECO Explorers" program next year. We will be adding an "ECO Pathfinders" program which will be for Preschool-K/1st grade and our NEW "ECO Explorers" program will now cover 1st-5th grade.
If you are interested in your child joining the ECO program in the fall, we highly recommend attending this trial class. We will run the trial class just like a typical ECO day, however we ask that parents stay close by so you can also see how a typical day looks (our semester/yearly program will have a drop off option). You may bring older or younger siblings, just know this class will be geared towards 1st-5th grade. We will bring some activities to occupy younger siblings.
For this class students will be learning about the "unlovables" and the misconceptions or perceptions they and others may have about certain animal species. Through hands on activities and discussions students will learn about a variety of animals that they and others may find incredibly difficult to love. Maybe it is the way they look or how they behave. Maybe it is just misconceptions. Whatever the reason, many people don't like them. Students will learn the natural history of several animals in an effort to dispel myths and misunderstandings about them.
Please allow about 4 hrs for this class. There will be a lunch break.
