Due to overwhelming interest, we have decided to add a 2nd program to accommodate 1st-3rd graders. Children in this program should be ages 6-9 yrs old. Younger siblings are welcome to tag along at no charge.
ECO Adventurers Trial Class - Cost $7 Per Family
If you are interested in your child joining the ECO program in the fall, we highly recommend attending this trial class. We will run the trial class just like a typical ECO day, however we ask that parents stay close by so you can also see how a typical day looks (our semester/yearly program will have a drop off option). You may bring older or younger siblings, just know this class will be geared towards 1st-5th grade. We will bring some activities to occupy younger siblings.
For this class students will be learning about the "unlovables" and the misconceptions or perceptions they and others may have about certain animal species. Through hands-on activities and discussions students will learn about a variety of animals that they and others may find incredibly difficult to love. Maybe it is the way they look or how they behave. Maybe it is just misconceptions. Whatever the reason, many people don't like them. Students will learn the natural history of several animals in an effort to dispel myths and misunderstandings about them.
Please allow about 4 hrs for this class. There will be a lunch break.
*There is a Google doc form in the calendar event details section that must be submitted, along with your payment to finalize your registration.
Our Adventurers Program will be geared towards children who are in 1st-3rd Grade (approximate ages 6-9 yrs old). This program is drop off, however, exceptions can be made based on your child(rens) needs.
Adventurer Program Concessions:
Since this is a new program that we are adding to meet the demand for environmental education programs, we are offering a few concessions for this program only.
Children in this program do not need to be emergent readers.
We are also allowing younger siblings Preschool-Kindergarten, ages 3-4/5 yrs old, to attend at NO additional charge. If younger siblings will be tagging along parents will need to stay at class. Tagalongs may play with loose parts, participate in the craft, etc. We may be able to offer a storytime and hike option for tagalongs as well.
